Causes of increased uric acid

Dietary habits: Eating foods high in purine is the main cause.

Red meat (goat, beef), liver and other organs.

Some types of sea fish (sardines, mackerel, shrimp).

Drinks containing fructose (soda, soft drinks).

Lifestyle: Excessive alcohol consumption, especially beer, can quickly increase uric acid levels.

Body weight: In obese people, the body produces more uric acid, and the kidneys have difficulty excreting it.

Kidney problems: If the kidneys function slowly, uric acid will accumulate in the blood.

Medications: Some medications to lower BP (diuretics) can cause increased uric acid levels.

Genetic factors: Some people also have a hereditary predisposition to high uric acid.
