Reasons for Ulcers

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) bacteria: This bacteria is the most important cause of ulcers. They destroy the protective layer (Mucus layer) of the stomach and allow acid to directly affect the stomach wall.

Excessive use of painkillers: Long-term use of painkillers (NSAIDs – for example, Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Diclofenac) destroys the natural protection of the stomach wall and causes ulcers.

Excessive acid production: Excessive acid production in the stomach due to lifestyle changes can lead to ulcers.

Smoking: Smoking increases the risk of ulcers and delays the healing of the wounds that have formed.

Alcohol: Excessive alcohol consumption can damage the lining of the stomach and cause ulcers.

Stress: Although stress does not directly cause ulcers, it can increase the production of stomach acid and increase ulcer symptoms.

Diet: Excessive consumption of spicy, sour, and acidic foods can cause more pain in people with ulcer symptoms.
