Main causes of persistent dizziness
Inner Ear Issues:
The most common cause of dizziness is a malfunction in the balance system in the inner ear.
BPPV: Dizziness that occurs when the head is suddenly turned.
Labyrinthitis: An infection in the ear.
Meniere’s Disease: Dizziness that is experienced along with ringing in the ears and hearing loss.
Blood pressure fluctuations:
A sudden decrease or increase in blood pressure (Low BP) can cause changes in the blood flow to the brain and cause dizziness.
Anemia:
When the hemoglobin level in the body decreases, the brain does not receive enough oxygen. This causes constant dizziness and fatigue.
Diabetes:
A sudden drop in blood sugar levels (Hypoglycemia) can cause dizziness.
Anxiety/Stress:
Sudden changes in breathing (Hyperventilation) when experiencing intense anxiety or fear can cause dizziness.
Medication side effects:
Some medications taken for high blood pressure, insomnia, and depression can cause dizziness.
Neck problems (Cervical Spondylosis):
Wearing of the bones and nerves in the neck can affect blood flow to the brain and cause dizziness.
Dehydration:
A decrease in water in the body reduces blood flow and causes dizziness.
