There are many causes of heel pain. Since the heel bears the entire weight of our foot, even minor problems can be felt as major pain. The main causes of heel pain are as follows:

Main causes of heel pain
Plantar Fasciitis:
This is the most common cause of heel pain. It is an inflammation of the plantar fascia, which extends from the heel to the toes. It is characterized by severe pain when you get up in the morning and take the first few steps.

Heel Spur:
This is a condition in which bone grows excessively under the bone in the heel. It often occurs with plantar fasciitis. It causes stabbing pain on the bottom of the foot.

Wrong footwear:
Constant use of shoes with thick soles or shoes that do not provide enough support for the heel causes heel pain.

Overweight:
As your body weight increases, it puts excessive pressure on the tissues in the heel, leading to pain.

Prolonged standing work:
Working on concrete floors or hard surfaces for long periods of time can cause fatigue in the heel muscles.

Excessive exercise:
Suddenly starting strenuous walking or running without preparation puts stress on the feet.

Arthritis:
Rheumatoid arthritis or increased uric acid (gout) can also cause heel pain.
