Reasons for allergies

Immune system malfunction:
The body’s immune system is designed to destroy bacteria and viruses that invade our bodies. However, in some people, this system mistakes harmless substances called ‘allergens’ as dangerous and produces chemicals such as histamine to fight them off. These chemicals cause allergy symptoms such as itching, sneezing, and swelling.

Common allergens:

Pollen: Caused by breathing in pollen from plants and flowers.

Dust mites: Microorganisms found in house dust, curtains, and bedding.

Food: Milk, eggs, seafood, and peanuts can cause severe allergies in some people.

Animal dander: Pet dander and saliva.

Chemicals: Perfumes, soaps, detergents, etc.

Insect stings: Bee, wasp stings, etc.

Genetics:
If parents have allergies, their children are more likely to have allergies. This is an inherited condition.

Environmental factors:
Some studies (Hygiene Hypothesis) suggest that in children who are not exposed to many germs during childhood, the immune system may become overly sensitive and lead to allergies.
