Allergies occur when our body’s immune system overreacts to some common substances around us. The body sees such substances as enemies and releases a chemical called ‘Histamine’, which turns into itching and sneezing. The main causes are:
Dust and air pollution (Dust & Pollution): The most important cause of allergies is dust in homes and roads. When the ‘Dust Mites’ in dust particles, which are invisible to the naked eye, reach the lungs, severe sneezing and suffocation occur.
Pollen and Mold: In some climates, the amount of pollen in the air increases. Many people develop seasonal allergies (Allergic Rhinitis) by breathing this. In addition, mold that grows on the walls of houses and wet clothes can also cause allergies.
Food allergies: Food allergies can also be caused by the foods you eat. Eating seafood such as shrimp, crab, and clams, eggs, milk, nuts, and wheat can cause skin irritation and itching.
Pet hair and saliva: The hair, small skin cells (dander), and saliva of pets such as cats and dogs can enter the body through the air and cause chronic allergies.
Medicines and cosmetics: Some antibiotics (such as penicillin) and painkillers can cause allergies in some people. In addition, hair dyes, perfumes, and soaps containing chemicals can also cause skin allergies.
