Unwanted facial hair, especially on the upper lip and chin, is a major beauty problem in women. Hormonal changes (such as PCOS) are a major cause of this. Here are some natural ways that you can do at home instead of going to the parlor for threading and waxing:
1. Turmeric and Milk
This is the best way to reduce hair growth that has been used since ancient times. Turmeric helps in weakening the hair follicles.
How to do it: Mix two teaspoons of turmeric with a little milk and apply it on your face. After drying, wet your hands and gently scrub in the opposite direction and wash it off. If you do this regularly, the hair will fall out and the growth of new ones will decrease.
2. Papaya & Turmeric
The enzyme ‘Papain’ present in papaya expands the hair follicles and helps in hair loss.
Directions: Mix half a teaspoon of turmeric with grated ripe papaya. Apply this mixture on your face and massage for 15 minutes. Then wash it off with cold water. This can be done twice a week.
3. Sugar & Lemon Wax
This works as a natural bleach and scrub. Lemon juice helps in bleaching the hair color.
Directions: Mix two teaspoons of sugar, a little lemon juice and water and heat it slightly. After heating this mixture, apply it on the area with unwanted hair and let it dry. Then, gently rub it in the opposite direction of hair growth and rinse it off.
4. Gram Flour & Yogurt
Gram flour is very good for brightening the skin of the face and removing fine hair.
How to do it: Mix a little yogurt and a pinch of turmeric powder in gram flour and make a paste. Apply it on the face and let it dry well. After it dries completely, gently rub it in the opposite direction and wash it off.
5. Egg White Mask
Egg white helps in removing very fine hair from the face by its roots.
How to do it: Mix half a teaspoon of cornflour and a teaspoon of sugar in an egg white and mix well. Apply this mixture on the face and let it dry well and then remove it like a face mask.
Special note:
If you suddenly have thick hair growing on your face, it may be due to hormonal changes (PCOS/PCOD). In that case, you should definitely see a gynecologist or dermatologist.
These natural methods are not magical hair removal methods that can be used once. You will only see a noticeable change if you use them consistently for at least a month.
