Obesity: Obesity, especially abdominal fat, interferes with the function of insulin (Insulin Resistance).
Lifestyle changes: Lack of exercise, prolonged sitting, and a sedentary lifestyle are the main causes of diabetes.
Dietary habits: Excessive consumption of foods containing too much sugar, starch (Carbohydrates), bakery sweets, and soft drinks.
Stress: Excessive mental stress can cause hormonal changes in the body and increase blood sugar levels.
Aging: As you get older, the body’s ability to function decreases and the risk of diabetes increases.
Other diseases/medications: Some medical conditions and excessive use of drugs such as steroids can lead to diabetes.
