Piles occur when there is excessive pressure on the muscles and blood vessels in the anus. The main reasons that lead to this are as follows:
1. Chronic Constipation
The most important cause of piles is constipation. When the stool becomes thick and you strain too much to expel it, the blood vessels in the anus are put under pressure and they swell.
2. Low-fiber diet
Not including fruits, vegetables, and whole grains in the diet causes the stool to become thick. Regular consumption of flour dishes (porrot, bread) and fast food increases this problem.
3. Sitting on the toilet for a long time
These days, many people have the habit of using their phones on the toilet. Sitting like this for a long time increases the pressure on the blood vessels around the anus and causes piles.
4. Pregnancy
Hormonal changes in women during pregnancy and the pressure exerted by the growing uterus on the blood vessels in the abdomen increase the risk of piles.
5. Physical inactivity and obesity
The pressure on the lower blood vessels increases in people who are overweight and do not exercise. This condition is more common in people who work sitting for long periods of time.
6. Lifting heavy objects
Lifting heavy objects regularly without the correct technique can increase the pressure on the muscles of the stomach and rectum.
Remedies:
Drink plenty of water: Drink 3-4 liters of water a day to soften the stool.
Eat fiber-rich foods: Eat spinach, legumes, oats, and fruits.
Sitz bath: Sitting in lukewarm water for 15 minutes can help reduce pain and swelling
