Rheumatoid Arthritis:
This is an autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the lining of its own joints, causing inflammation. This usually causes severe pain and swelling in the joints.
Gout:
When the amount of uric acid in the body increases and they accumulate in the joints (especially in the toes and ankles) as needle-like crystals, you suddenly feel severe pain, severe swelling, and redness.
Septic Arthritis:
When microorganisms such as bacteria or fungi reach the joints through the blood or directly, a serious infection, severe swelling, and fever can occur.
Injuries:
Injuries to the joints during a fall or during a sports event, ligament tears, or cartilage injuries can suddenly cause swelling and pain.
Inflammatory Osteoarthritis:
Although osteoarthritis, which is usually caused by wear and tear, does not usually cause joint swelling or inflammation, pain and swelling may occur during flare-ups or intermittent flare-ups.
