Main reasons for the increase in uric acid
Dietary habits (Purine-rich diet): The main reason is excessive consumption of foods containing purine.
Red meat (beef, mutton, pork).
Organ meats (liver, kidney).
Some types of sea fish (sardines, mackerel, shrimp).
Sweet drinks and alcohol:
Alcoholic drinks such as beer.
Soft drinks and packet juices containing fructose quickly increase uric acid levels.
Decreased kidney function: When the kidneys are unable to effectively remove uric acid from the blood, it accumulates in the body.
Obesity: Obesity reduces the ability of the kidneys to excrete uric acid from the body.
Some health problems: Diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid problems, psoriasis, etc. can cause increased uric acid.
Medications: Some medications (for example, some diuretics to lower BP) can increase uric acid levels.
Heredity: Some people are genetically predisposed to produce more uric acid.
