Heel Pain can have many causes. Some of the most common causes are as follows:

Reasons for Heel Pain
Plantar Fasciitis: This is the most common cause of heel pain. It is caused by inflammation of the plantar fascia, a muscle in the bottom of the foot. It is characterized by severe pain when you first get up in the morning and take the first few steps.

Heel Spur: This is a condition in which an abnormal bone grows under the heel bone. It presses on the soft parts of the foot and causes pain.

 

Obesity: All the body weight is concentrated in the heel. Therefore, this pain is more common in overweight people.

Wrong footwear: Constant use of shoes without cushioning, flat shoes, or shoes that are too high can cause pain.

Prolonged standing: Working in the same position for long periods of time puts excessive strain on the muscles in the heel.

Excessive exercise: Starting a run suddenly or walking/running on a hard surface can cause heel pain.

Uric acid or arthritis: Pain and swelling in the heel can occur due to an increase in uric acid in the blood or due to arthritis.
