The main reasons for this are as follows:

Main causes of melanosis
Autoimmune conditions: This is the most important cause. The body’s immune system mistakenly identifies our own melanin cells and attacks and destroys them.

Genetics: If parents or close relatives have melanosis in the family, it is more likely to occur. However, it is not seen in everyone.

Neurogenic factors: Sometimes certain substances released from the nerves can destroy melanin cells.

Self-destruction of cells: A condition in which cells destroy themselves due to certain byproducts produced during the production of melanin.

Trigger factors: In some people, severe mental stress, excessive sunburn, or exposure to certain chemicals may trigger this.
