Main causes of knee pain
Osteoarthritis:
This is a condition in which the cartilage that protects the bones in the knee as they rub against each other wears down with age. This is the most common cause of knee pain.
Obesity:
As body weight increases, the knees put more pressure on them than they can handle, leading to knee pain and wear and tear.
Weakness in the muscles around the knee (especially the thigh muscles) can affect the balance of the knee and cause pain.
Injuries:
Injuries to the ligaments or meniscus in the knee during sports or due to falls can cause severe pain.
Arthritis:
Diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and gout can cause swelling and pain in the knees.
Bad habits:
Working on the floor, constantly going up and down stairs, and walking in the wrong way can have a detrimental effect on the knees.
