Does pain radiate from the neck to the arms like lightning? 5 causes

Pain that starts in the neck and spreads through the shoulders to the arms and fingers is a problem that bothers many people. Along with this, there is a feeling of numbness and tingling in the hands. The main causes are:

Cervical Disc Herniation: The shock absorber discs between the vertebrae in the neck push out and press on the nerves going to the arms, causing severe pain.

Cervical Spondylosis: As we age, the bones and discs in the neck wear down. As a part of this, small growths on the bones (Bone Spurs) put pressure on the nerves, which leads to pain.

Poor Posture: Using a mobile phone with your head bent for a long time (Text Neck) and sitting hunched in front of the computer put excessive strain on the muscles and nerves in the neck. This can gradually cause pain to spread to the arms.

Nerve Compression: When the nerves that carry messages from the neck to the arms pass through narrow pathways for some reason, they become compressed, causing pain and weakness in the arms.

Accidents and Injuries: Sudden falls and vehicle accidents (whiplash injury) can damage the muscles and ligaments in the neck, which can lead to pain in the arms.
