Are you suffering from back pain? 5 important reasons

Back pain is a common problem in most people today, regardless of age. Pain is often caused by trauma to the spine and the muscles surrounding it.

Muscle Strain: Lifting heavy objects suddenly and bending over incorrectly can cause strain on the muscles and ligaments in the back. This is more common in people who have little physical activity and do strenuous work suddenly.

Disc-related problems (Slipped Disc): Herniated Disc or wear and tear of the discs between the vertebrae in the spine causes severe back pain. When this puts pressure on the nerves, the pain can also spread to the legs.

Poor Posture: Working in front of the computer for hours, bending the neck and back and using a mobile phone affects the natural structure of the spine. This leads to long-term back pain.

Arthritis/Spondylosis: As we age, the joints in the spine wear down. This is called ‘spondylosis’. This reduces the space inside the spine and puts pressure on the nerves.

Obesity and lack of exercise: As you gain weight, your spine has to work harder to support it. Also, when your abdominal muscles weaken, the support your spine needs decreases, leading to pain.
