Warts are small growths on the skin. They are not a disease, but a viral infection of the skin. More information about this is given below:

Reason for Warts
Warts are caused by a virus called Human Papillomavirus (HPV). When this virus enters the body through minor cuts or scratches on the skin, it causes excessive growth of cells and forms warts.

How is it transmitted?

Direct contact: It can be transmitted to others by touching a person with warts or by sharing objects they have used (towels, razors, shoes, etc.).

Self-transmission: If you have warts on one part of your body, the virus can spread to other parts of your body when you touch them with your hands.

Things to note:
Do not pop: Popping or trying to cut off a wart can cause infection and spread the virus to other parts of your body.

Clean: Always keep the wart area clean.

See a doctor: If the wart is painful, growing rapidly, bleeding, or appearing in large numbers on the face, it is best to see a dermatologist.
