Breast Cancer: Don’t be afraid, recognize these 5 main causes and symptoms

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women worldwide. But it is completely curable if detected on time. Here are the main causes that lead to breast cancer:

Genetic causes and inheritance: If your mother, sister, or grandmother has had breast cancer in your family, then the next generation is more likely to get it. In particular, changes in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes increase the risk of breast cancer.

Hormonal changes: High levels of the hormone ‘Estrogen’ in the body can cause abnormal cell growth. Starting menstruation at a very young age (before the age of 12) and having menopause late (after the age of 55) are factors that increase estrogen exposure.

Late pregnancy and not breastfeeding: Having your first child after the age of 30 slightly increases your risk of breast cancer. Studies show that breastfeeding your children regularly can help prevent breast cancer. The risk of this is relatively higher in those who do not breastfeed.

Unhealthy lifestyle and obesity: Excessive weight gain after menopause can increase estrogen hormone levels. In addition, lack of exercise, a high-fat diet, alcohol consumption, and smoking are also factors that increase the risk of cancer.

Previous radiation treatments: Those who have received radiation therapy to the chest area for other diseases at a young age are more likely to develop breast cancer after a long period of time than others.
