Can’t sleep at night? 5 main things that cause insomnia

A healthy body needs 7 to 8 hours of good sleep every day. Lack of sleep can lead to many mental and physical problems. The main reasons are:

Excessive phone use (Blue Light Exposure): Using mobile phones and laptops just before going to bed disrupts the production of the sleep-inducing hormone ‘Melatonin’. The blue light from screens makes the brain stay awake.

Stress and Anxiety: Overthinking due to work-related problems or family worries does not allow the brain to calm down. This prevents sleep or causes you to wake up in the middle of the night.

Wrong diet: Drinking caffeinated tea and coffee just before going to bed can affect sleep. In addition, eating too much at night and eating spicy foods can cause indigestion and sleep deprivation.

Irregular sleep schedule: Not going to bed and waking up at the same time every day disrupts the body’s natural circadian rhythm. Taking long naps during the day can also affect sleep at night.

Physical disorders: Physical disorders such as chronic pain, breathing problems (sleep apnea), and frequent urination can interfere with deep sleep.
