Main causes and factors of PMOS

Insulin Resistance:
This is a condition in which the cells in the body are unable to respond to insulin properly. This increases the amount of insulin in the body. High levels of insulin stimulate the ovaries and increase the production of the male hormone testosterone. This affects ovulation and the menstrual cycle.

Hormonal Imbalance:
The level of male hormones such as androgens in the body is higher than normal. This causes problems such as acne, excessive hair growth on the body and face.

Genetics / Family History:
If the mother or sisters in the family have this condition, the risk of it developing in others is very high. Some genetic characteristics can cause this.

Lifestyle and obesity:
Overweight and an unhealthy lifestyle can worsen insulin resistance, thereby increasing the severity of hormonal changes.
