Main factors influencing breast size

Genetics: A person’s physical constitution, especially breast size, depends on genetic factors from the mother and grandmother’s sides. This plays a major role.

Hormones:

Increasing levels of the hormone estrogen during puberty cause breast growth.

When there are hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle, there are slight changes and swelling in the breasts.

Weight: Breasts are mainly made up of fatty tissues. Therefore, when the body gains weight, the size of the breasts increases, and when the body loses weight, the size of the breasts decreases.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: During pregnancy, due to hormonal changes in the body, the breasts increase in size and are ready to produce breast milk. After stopping breastfeeding, the size and shape of the breasts may change.

Ageing: As we age, the elasticity of the skin decreases and the tissues that support the breasts weaken. This causes the breasts to sag and appear to change in size.

Health conditions: Some rare health conditions or hormonal disorders can affect breast development.
