The main reasons for worm infestation are given below:

Main reasons for worm infestation
Lack of hygiene: Not washing hands with soap before eating is the most important reason for worm infestation. Worm eggs stick to hands and nails through dirt and reach the stomach while eating food.

Contaminated water: Drinking untreated water causes worm eggs to enter the body.

Contaminated food: Worm eggs may be present in vegetables and fruits consumed without washing. Preparing food from outside in unsanitary conditions is also a cause.

Not using footwear: Some types of worms (e.g. hookworm) can enter the body through the skin when walking barefoot on the ground.

Contact with animals: Worms can be transmitted from pets to humans.

Unclean environment: Using dirty toilets and not maintaining environmental hygiene increases worm infestation.
