Main causes of skin allergies
Contact dermatitis:
Allergy that occurs when the skin comes into direct contact with certain substances.
Examples: Plants, certain metals (nickel in jewelry), rubber, latex, perfumes, some soaps, and detergents.
Medications: Some antibiotics or painkillers can cause itching or swelling of the skin.
Foods: Some people have food allergies when they eat foods such as eggs, milk, seafood, and peanuts.
Airborne factors: The body can develop allergies when it comes into contact with pollen, dust mites, and animal dander.
Insect bites or stings: When insects such as bees and ants bite, the skin can swell and itch due to the venom.
Cosmetics: Chemicals in cheap makeup, hair dye, and body lotions can cause allergies.
Weather changes: Extreme cold, heat, or humidity can increase skin allergies in some people.
