There is no single cause for stomach cancer. Cancer cells usually develop due to genetic changes in the cells of the stomach. The main factors that cause this are as follows:

Causes of stomach cancer
Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection:
This is a bacterial infection. The long-term presence of this bacteria in the stomach causes inflammation in the stomach walls, which can later lead to changes that can lead to cancer.

Dietary habits:

Excessive consumption of salty foods, processed meats, and smoked foods can increase the risk of cancer.

A diet low in fruits and vegetables is also a major cause.

Lifestyle:

Smoking: Smokers are much more likely to develop stomach cancer than non-smokers.

Alcohol consumption: Excessive alcohol consumption can damage the stomach lining.

Other stomach conditions:

Chronic gastritis.

Stomach tumors (polyps).

Some types of anemia (pernicious anemia).

Genetics:
If your parents or close relatives have had stomach cancer in your family, you are more likely to develop the disease due to genetic factors.

Age and gender:
The risk of cancer increases with age (especially over 50 years of age). This cancer is more common in men than in women.
