Women Must Know! 5 Main Reasons Behind Increasing Cancer Risk

Recent studies have shown that the rate of various types of cancer (especially breast cancer, cervical cancer, and ovarian cancer) in women is increasing. This is due to factors ranging from genetic factors to changing lifestyles. Here are the main reasons that increase the risk of cancer in women:

Hormonal Factors: Prolonged high levels of the hormone ‘Estrogen’ in women’s bodies increase the risk of breast cancer and endometrial cancer. Early menstruation, late menopause, late pregnancy, and not breastfeeding are factors that increase this.

Human Papilloma Virus Infection (HPV Infection): 99 percent of cervical cancer in women is caused by ‘Human Papilloma Virus’ or HPV infection. This virus, which is spread through unprotected sex, stays in the body for years and turns cells into cancer.

Heredity and Genetics: If a mother, sister, or close relative has breast cancer or ovarian cancer in the family, the next generation is also at higher risk. The main reason for this is the mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes in the body.

Unhealthy diet and obesity: Excessive consumption of fatty and sweet fast foods and processed foods increases weight. Obesity in women after menopause increases the production of the hormone estrogen, which can lead to cancer.

Lack of exercise and tobacco/alcohol use: Lack of physical activity reduces the body’s immune system. Passive smoking (breathing in smoke from a husband or other person) and excessive alcohol consumption also contribute to the growth of cancer cells in women.
