The liver is the main organ that removes toxins from the body. But fatty liver is a condition in which more than 5 to 10 percent of the liver’s weight is accumulated with fat. If this is not controlled in time, it can lead to a serious condition like liver cirrhosis. The main causes are:
Excessive alcohol consumption: This is one of the most important causes of fatty liver. Alcohol damages liver cells and reduces the liver’s ability to break down fat. This causes fat to accumulate in the liver (Alcoholic Fatty Liver).

Wrong diet and sugar: Eating too many carbohydrate-rich foods, flour, sweets, and artificial drinks (soft drinks) increases blood glucose levels. This excess sugar turns into fat and accumulates in the liver.
Insulin resistance and diabetes: People whose body cells do not respond properly to insulin (Insulin Resistance) and those with type 2 diabetes are more likely to develop fatty liver. Elevated blood fat levels directly affect liver health.
Obesity and lack of exercise: Lack of physical activity and increased fat around the abdomen lead to fatty liver. Not doing even simple exercises increases the fat layer on the liver.

High cholesterol: Increased levels of triglycerides and bad cholesterol (LDL) in the blood impair liver function. This leads to a condition called ‘non-alcoholic fatty liver’ (NAFLD), which can be part of a lifestyle disease.
