Why does cancer occur? The main reasons you should know!

Cancer is a silent killer. The main reasons that lead to it are as follows:

1. Lifestyle and drug use
One of the biggest factors that causes cancer is tobacco use. Smoking causes lung cancer and tobacco products cause oral cancer. Similarly, excessive alcohol consumption increases the risk of cancer in the liver, throat, and breast.

2. Diet
Processed meat, excessively fried and fried foods, and foods with artificial colors increase the risk of cancer. Lack of fiber in the diet and obesity contribute to this.

3. Genetics
About 5% to 10% of cancers are inherited. If someone in the family has breast cancer, ovarian cancer, or colon cancer, the next generation is also at risk.

4. Environmental toxins
Pollution around us is a major cause. Exposure to smoke, pesticide-laden food, and chemicals like asbestos and benzene can cause changes in cells.

5. Radiation

Direct exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays in sunlight can cause skin cancer. Excessive radiation from X-rays and CT scans can also be harmful.

6. Viruses and infections

Some types of viruses can cause cancer. For example:

HPV (Human Papillomavirus): Causes cervical cancer.

Hepatitis B & C: Can lead to liver cancer.

3 ways to prevent cancer:

Healthy diet: Include plenty of fruits and vegetables.

Avoid intoxication: Quit tobacco and alcohol completely.

Regular check-ups: See a doctor immediately if you notice any unusual lumps or changes in your body.
