Although the exact cause of stomach cancer is not completely clear, it is believed to be caused by changes in the DNA of liver and stomach cells. The main factors that cause these changes are as follows:

Main causes and risk factors for stomach cancer:
Helicobacter pylori infection (H. pylori Infection):
One of the most important causes of stomach cancer is a long-term infection with the bacterium H. pylori, which affects the inner walls of the stomach. This can cause ulcers and swelling in the stomach and later lead to cancer.

Poor Diet:
Excessive consumption of salty foods, dried or smoked meats, and pickles can seriously damage the inner walls of the stomach. In addition, a decrease in fruits and vegetables in the diet is also a reason.

Smoking & Tobacco:
People who smoke are at a higher risk of developing stomach cancer. The harmful chemicals in tobacco can damage the cells in the stomach.

Genetics & Family History:
If your parents or close relatives have a history of stomach cancer, you are more likely to develop the disease due to genetic reasons.

Previous Gastric Surgery:
Those who have had a part of their stomach removed due to stomach ulcers, and those who have conditions such as Chronic Atrophic Gastritis, where the stomach walls become thinner, are at a higher risk.

Age and Gender:
This disease is usually more common in people over the age of 50. In addition, men are more likely to develop stomach cancer than women.
