Main causes of numbness and pain in the hands and feet

Diabetic Neuropathy: When blood sugar levels remain uncontrolled for a long time, it damages the nerves. This causes numbness and pain that starts in the feet and then spreads to the hands.

Nutritional Deficiency: Deficiency of vitamins B12, B1, and B6, which are essential for the functioning of the nervous system, is a major factor causing numbness.

Spine Issues: Degeneration of the discs in the spine (Slipped Disc/Cervical or Lumbar Spondylosis) can compress the nerves, causing pain and numbness in the hands or feet.

Circulatory Impairment: A condition in which blood flow to the hands and feet is reduced (PAD) can cause the muscles to not get enough oxygen, which can cause pain and numbness.

Alcohol: Excessive alcohol consumption can affect the nerves and cause numbness.

Thyroid problems: Thyroid disorders such as hypothyroidism can also cause this type of rash in some people.

Side effects of medications: Rashes can be experienced as a side effect when using certain types of medications (e.g. chemotherapy drugs).
